US Women's Soccer: Ranking Every Member of the Team by Hotness

The U.S. women's soccer team has just beaten France, 3-1, in the semifinals of the 2011 Women's World Cup. The team showed some good moves and some good looks.
The U.S. team is arguably the hottest in soccer, and not without reason.
With players like Hope Solo and Abby Wambach, they are an excellent team, but they are also pretty hot.
With that, let's rank every single player on the U.S. women's soccer team.

I am sure that as most of you know summer in the city can be pretty brutal. There are so many days that I can barely stand wearing anything but cotton and all my Costello Tagliapietra for Uniqlo dresses almost become my summer uniform due to their easy fit and all occasion simplicity. In case you were curious I actually wore the same dress with accessories variations when I met The Bumbys for a style appraisal a couple weeks ago. Lately I’ve been loving pairing bright colors and neons with neutrals – this outfit was no exception. I started with a neon orange belt and worked my way outwards. It’s actually a bit rare that I start in the middle but it was all about the belt today.

This Timo Weiland shirt is probably one of my favorite purchases of the season. I'm obsessed with the print - the bright coral on the front and the romantic landscape on the back. I bought it from Life:Curated in Williamsburg not too long ago, and I've already worn it three times.

For the office, I've layered it over a basic tank with a light cardigan. But on the weekends in this wicked summer heat, I've worn it with just my Zac Posen for Target bandeau.

iWant: Thomas IV Bags

Over the weekend I checked out Terrfic Mag's pop-up shop at Union Pool. The event featured 20 of New York’s finest independent clothing, jewelry, and accessories designers, including Thomas IV. This line of mix textile handbags can be found at fine boutiques like Bird, Steven Alan and Oak, all personal favorites of mine.

It was my first time coming across Thomas IV, and I have to say I'm definitely a fan. The line was inspired by designer Lia Cinquegrano's desire to find an everyday handbag that reflects her personal style. Her mixed print, mixed textile aesthetic really speaks to me. I love her color palettes and the functionality of her bags. Made with leather and canvas and a minimal use of hardware, the bags are all very lightweight. And the bucket bags were lined with plenty of pockets inside and out.

These were my favorites on Saturday, and I'm still thinking about the Joanie Bucket bag in camel. It's from her Spring Summer collection, but I would feel comfortable toting it into the fall and super excited to have a Thomas IV handbag in my collection.

n by Nicole Miller Fall Footwear Collection

While I don’t usually consider JC Penney to be a footwear destination, perhaps I will have to change my opinion on that subject thanks to Nicole Miller’s diffusion line. I just caught a glimpse of the Fall 2011 shoes in the n by Nicole Miller collection and was won over by the affordability and the styling. You can snag super cute little booties, patterned pumps and sophisticated wedges all for under $100 a pop. In fact right now several styles are marked down to just $50! While my fave style is definitely the open toe buckle booties above, I am also digging the zip wedge booties and construction style booties below. Wish that they made size 5, but unfortunately for me the collection runs from size 6-11. What do you think of the collection?

The Lucky Magazine Summer Jam

Top Left photo Courtesy of Shot by Jake A couple weeks ago I had the chance to hang out with some of the fabulous editors of Lucky Magazine for some tropical cocktails and have my style rated by The Bumbys at Elsa in the East Village. The scene was cheerful and fun with cocktails complete with mini umbrellas, neon wayfarer style sunnies and jumbo party balloons with streamers from Geronimo setting the scene.

Since I was more than a little nervous to have my style rated I took my time sipping my delicious cucumber ginger Pimm’s & Gin cocktail and snacking on tasty light bites from Radish – including some radishes! I got to spend some time with some of my fave bloggers including Dina of Eye4Style, Sarah of StyleIT, Nubia of Nubia’s Nonsense and Sara of Farpitz.

So The Bumbys are an anonymous duo who promise to give you a fair and honest appraisal of your appearance. They wear wigs and cover their identities with scarves and sunglasses. They call themselves Gill and Jill and they type furiously on an old school typewriter so all that you can hear is the clickety clackety noises of typing as you stand and they take their time staring at you and anxiously await your verdict. Since I don’t normally like to be judged I was a little afraid of the outcome but it turned out that my fears were needless as Gill and Jill are actually the type of people that build you up rather than tear you down. They focus on the positive and uplift you with whimsy and humor. After having my appearance appraised by Jill, I decided to see what Gill thought too. Seems that they are consistent because they both commented on my hair accessories and gave me the same marks! Thanks to The Bumbys for an adorable and memorable experience.

Turns out I wasn’t the only curious one and soon the line to see The Bumbys was quite a bit longer than when I first nervously made my way forward. We all had a blast sharing our cards with each other and giggling at the cuteness of the words they wrote. Thanks to Lucky Magazine for a wonderful night and a fun mid-week escape!
