The latest issue of V Magazine is apparently the "Asia Issue," featuring top Asian models, actors, and musicians. For the past few months, "Asian" has been this trend manifesting itself in a wave of new Asian model "it-girls," and editorials dedicated to Oriental beauty. When something is trendy, it's implied that it's superficial and short lived. Ethnicities shouldn't be trends. Actually, ethnicities
can't be trends because they aren't commodities; rather, they are simply a natural part of life.

Actually, this whole post is very good Samaritan-y, but not in a contrived way; I do feel strongly about the lack of ethnic diversity in fashion. Though I hate the idea of races being trendy, maybe it will help others see that European models are not the only option.
